Abstract
The intrinsic temperature dependence of the stacking-fault energy γ has been measured for Ag-5·4 at.% Al, Ag-9·6 at.% Al, Ag-15·0 at.% A1 and Ag-9·4 at.% In alloys by means of in situ thermal cycling experiments in s HVEM, where 'weak-beam' electron microscopy was used for observation. A general rule governing the intrinsic temperature dependence of γ for Ag-base alloys has been found and compared with theory. Keywords
