Abstract
Procedures for the additive coloration of single crystals of the alkaline-earth chalcogenides are described. Both the coloring bombs and the two-section vacuum furnace are made of tantalum. Coloring temperatures used range from 1500 to 1900°C, with the pressure of the metallic vapor ranging up to several atmospheres. Keywords
