Isolation of campylobacter-like bacteria from gastric epithelium

Abstract
Nineteen gastric biopsies were examined for campylobacter-like gram-negative bacteria. Such strains could be isolated in six out of the 19 biopsies, as confirmed histologically. The bacteria are sensitive to tetracycline, clindamycin, erythromycin, cefalothin, penicillin G and ampicillin and resistant to nalidixic acid and metronidazole. They grow in a 6% O2, 10% CO2 atmosphere at 37° C. Neunzehn Magenbiopsien wurden auf Campylobacterähnliche gramnegative Stäbchenbakterien untersucht. Sechs der Biopsien enthielten diese Erreger, was zusätzlich histologisch bestätigt werden konnte. Die Bakterien sind empfindlich auf Tetrazyklin, Clindamycin, Erythromycin, Cefalotin, Penicillin G und Ampicillin und resistent gegenüber Nalidixinsäure und Metronidazol. Sie wachsen in einer Atmosphäre von 6% O2, 10% CO2 bei 37° C.
