Clinical Observations on a Case of Idiopathic Tetany and Epilepsy

Abstract
The case of a 23 yr. old [male] suffering from idiopathic hypoparathyroidism and epilepsy is described. Therapy of the tetany (with Ca salts and dihydrotachysterol or viosterol) led to the complete cessation of the epileptic seizures despite discontinuation of phenobarbital. It is probable that the low serum Ca level acted as a trigger agent for the epileptic seizures.
