Abstract

The new lichen family HETERODEACEAE is described. The once monotypic genus Heterodea Nyl. was examined and extended to include 1 new spp. H. beaugleholei. A key to the species [H. muelleri] and a full description of each is provided, together with discussions on affinities and chemical constituents. The distribution of each species is discussed and illustrated with maps.
