Abstract
The long β-lifetime of 14C and the spectrum of 14N are explained using a small tensor force in addition to the usual central and spin-orbit forces. The γ-decay branching ratio of the 3·95 Mev level of 14N is predicted and also the nucleon reduced widths for the low levels of 14N and 15N.Keywords
