Abstract
Plasticizer/polymer interactions have been studied by measuring intrinsic viscosity of six cellulose esters in a series of dialkyl phthalates and glyceryl triacetate. Mechanical properties (tensile strength and modulus of elasticity) of cast films were also measured. In general, high values for the reciprocal of modulus of elasticity and low tensile strength correlated with high intrinsic viscosity values. Among the plasticizers tested, dimethyl phthalate and glyceryl triacetate were most efficient. Keywords
