Reconstruction of the anterior cruciate ligament using the semitendinosus tendon

Abstract
A histological study was performed on the intraarti cular part of a semitendinosus tendon used 16 months previously to reconstruct the anterior cruciate liga ment for chronic anterolateral anteromedial combined instability. The patient suffered an acute injury to his surgically treated knee playing soccer and ruptured his reconstructed anterior cruciate, allowing us the opportunity to perform a histological evaluation.
