Abstract
The discharge capacities of and at various discharge current densities have been measured. The capacity of is considerably lower than that of over the range of discharge rates employed in this work. The change in composition of the positive plate material during (a) initial SAE 20‐hr discharge, (b) successive SAE 20‐hr discharge tests, (c) high rate discharge at 26.7° and at − 18°C, and (d) stand at 26.7°C has been studied. The performance of the positive plate under the conditions of these tests can be related to the relative amounts of and in the positive material. Keywords
