Abstract
Recent measurements of the Zeeman effect in Er I have resulted in a consistent set of Zeeman data, in excellent agreement with theory for the 4f126s2 and 4f115d6s2 electron configurations of Er I. The measured value of g = 1.166±0.003 for the 3H6 level of the 4f126s2 electron configuration reduces the possibility of that value differing from the theoretically predicted value or the value measured by atomic-beam methods. Keywords
