Abstract
The methods of Zemach and Glauber for treating the scattering of low-energy neutrons by molecules are extended for the rotational degrees of freedom to any type of rotator. A procedure is developed which enables their results to be generalized to symmetric or asymmetric molecules. The method is then applied to the calculation of the direct scattering up to the accuracy of the first quantum-mechanical correction to the classical cross section. Keywords
