Abstract
A number of N4-hydroxy and N4-amino derivatives of 3′-azido-2′,3′-dideoxy-5-methylcytidine have been synthesized and tested for antiviral activity against HIV-1 and HIV-2. The N4-phenylamino and N4-dimethylamino analogues show marked anti-HIV activity which is comparable to that of AZT.Keywords
