Abstract
The rotational analysis of the 2—0 and 3—0 bands of the A—X system and of the 0—0 band of the B—X system has been carried out from plates of the absorption spectrum of gold vapour at about 2000°C. The bands of both systems consist of simple R and P branches, and both transitions are considered to be 0+ u–1Σ+ g. The internuclear distance r″ e in the ground state is 2.472 Å.Keywords
