Abstract
Three hundred and one cases of dermatitis have been Investigated over a period of 20 months. Ten factors were considered and are discussed. A relationship between agent and lost time was established. A plea for greater awareness of the problem in industry is made, both to the industrial medical officer and management in general. The incidence of dermatitis in New South Wales (2% to 3%) is similar to the reported incidence in the United States (65% of 5%, or just over 3%). More detailed investigation by the industrial medical officer and dermatologist would almost certainly reveal a higher incidence of constitutional eczema than appears in this series. Keywords
