Abstract
P. cactorum, P. palmivora and P. nicotianae were studied. All species showed zoospore accumulation at the top of vertically mounted capillary tubes within 15 min. Light did not affect zoospore distribution. Accumulation was due to active swimming, not flotation, as zoospores have a higher density than water. This is believed to be the 1st report of geotaxis in fungi. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
