Abstract
X-ray crystal structure determinations have shown that the essential amino-acid L-cysteine is bound to methylmercury(II)via a deprotonated sulphydryl group, whereas methionine is co-ordinated via an amino group in their respective 1 : 1 complexes.Keywords
