Diffusion in velocity space associated with nonadiabatic changes in the magnetic moment of a charged particle

Abstract

A kinetic equation is derived which includes velocity space diffusion effects due to nonadiabatic jumps in the magnetic moment. This extra diffusion can be comparable to classical diffusion in experimental situations of interest.
