Abstract
A convenient method for the preparation of ethyl chlorocarbonate‐14C is described. This has led to a facile synthesis of N‐methyl‐14C secondary amines by lithium aluminum hydride reduction of an intermediate 14C‐carbamate. The reaction has also been employed in the preparation of N‐methyl‐2H3‐ and N‐methyl‐3 H‐amines by using lithium aluminum hydride‐2 H4and lithium aluminum hydride‐3H.Keywords
