Abstract
The theory is developed of oscillatory flow of the most general linear elastico-viscous liquid in a concentric-sphere elastoviscometer, in which the outer of two concentric spheres undergoes forced harmonic angular oscillations about a vertical axis and the inner sphere is constrained by a torsion wire. It is concluded that such an instrument would distinguish different elastico-viscous liquids in much the same way as the coaxial-cylinder elastoviscometer.
