Abstract
Summary.: The CO‐method for determining the blood volume has been tested under various conditions. When the CO is rebreathed from an ordinary metabolism apparatus (Krogh‐apparatus or Benedict‐Roth apparatus) constant values can be obtained after 10–15 minutes of rebreathing, also during moderate work. The blood volume values obtained in this way are higher than those obtained simultaneously by the injection method (T‐1824). This is no doubt due to the myoglobin, which takes up an unpredictable amount of CO.Keywords
