Abstract
Anti-ACE serum reacted with the E- and I-fractions of Mucor hiemalis, M. javanicus, M. lamprosporus, M. mucedo, Rhizopus nigricans and A. cylindrospora. Samples prepared from Alternaria solani, Fusarium solani, Aspergillus spp., Cladosporium herbarm and Penicillium islandicum did not react with anti-ACE serum. Pythium debaryanum did not show any cross-reactivity. Anti-ACE serum apparently has specificity only for Mucoraceae or Mucorales. Since the purified mannans of Candida albicans and Saccharomyces cerevisiae did not cross-react with the anti-ACE serum, apparently the chemical structure of the common immunological determinant of the serologically active substances of Mucorales may be different from those of mannans. This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
