Abstract
New photographic data have been obtained for intermediate plagioclase both at temperature and after cooling. When considered with earlier observations, these confirm that at temperatures up to about 1000°C immediate reversible changes can be observed in the diffraction pattern; at higher temperatures permanent changes in the pattern are induced. A tentative structural interpretation of the two ranges of behaviour is outlined. Keywords
