Abstract
25 mg. of ACTH dissolved in 1 cc. of water were admd. by the aerosol route to 6 normal subjects and eosinophil counts were obtained prior to the use of the drug and 4 hrs. later. In 1 subject ACTH dissolved in propylene glycol was aerosolized and eosinophil detns. were obtained 2, 3 and 4 hrs. later. There was no significant drop of over 50% in any instance. The same subjects exhibited a definite eosinopenia following the injn. of 25 mg. of the same lot of ACTH. Thus, ACTH is apparently not absorbed from the bronchopulmonary tree. Keywords
