Exophtalmie Maligne Avec Ophtalmoplégie A La Suite de Traitements Thyreo-Inhibiteurs

Abstract
Malignant exophtalmos has been observed in two patients suffering from Graves’ disease and treated with thiouracil and aminothiazol. Bulging of the eyelids, chemosis and ophtalmoplegia were also noticed. In both cases, thyrotoxicosis had subsided and hypothyroid signs were present when the ophtalmic phenomena supervened. The pathogenesis of the latter is discussed.
