Differential Collection of Cranberry Pollen by Honey Bees1

Abstract
Six colonies of honey bees, Apis mellifera L., were near a cranberry bog. Pollen was collected and One colony consistently collected greater than 98% cranberry pollen, compared with 0.0-86.8% for the other colonies. Apparently, maximum collection of cranberry pollen can be achieved by placing colonies at cranberry bogs before peak bloom.
