Abstract
A sesquiterpene lactone, onopordopicrin [1], has been isolated from Centaurea sonchifolia. Its structure was established by 2D nmr (1H-1H and 13C-1H correlations), and the conformation in CHCl3 was examined by nOe studies. Cytotoxic, antibacterial, and antifungal activities are reported. Keywords
