Temporal dynamometry

Abstract
A method is described for estimating the external carotid arterial pressure by compression of its superficial temporal branch. The procedure is remarkable in being both theoretically and actually quite free of complictions and is simple to perform. The normal range is determined and the abnormal illustrated. Temporal dynamometry has proved useful in helping to identify occlusion of the common carotid artery.
