Abstract
Injection of alloxan produced a decrease in reduced glutathione in the blood and kidneys of rats with ligated pancreatic ducts as well as in non-treated animals. Reduced glutathione in the atrophied portion of the pancreas lienal to the duct ligation was not affected by alloxan injection. Rats having ligated pancreatic ducts developed diabetes after administration of alloxan. Keywords
