Observation of a Line Feature in the X-ray Spectrum of Cygnus X-3

Abstract
A narrow emission feature at ≈ 6·5 keV has been detected in the spectrum of Cygnus X-3, using instrumentation on the Ariel-5 satellite. The average strength of the feature is 0·027 ± 0·004 photon cm–2 s–1. The strength varies with the phase of the 4·8-hr binary cycle, but is the same as that seen by Serlemitsos et al. when the overall source intensity was much lower.
