Femoral neuropathy secondary to ruptured abdominal aortic aneurysms with false aneurysms

Abstract
Two patients had well-defined right femoral neuropathy as evidenced by paralysis and atrophy of the quadriceps femoris muscle and by sensory loss in the distribution of the anterior femoral cutaneous and saphenous nerves. In each patient, the neuropathy was a late manifestation of a previously undetected ruptured abdominal aortic aneurysm that had produced a right-sided false aneurysm in the iliopsoas muscle region with sufficient pressure on the femoral nerve to cause the loss of its function.
