The Hypercalcemia of Genitourinary Malignancy

Abstract
The treatment of metastatic genitourinary malignancy must incorporate an understanding of refractory hypercalcemia which may be present. Tumors have been shown to produce parathyroid hormone, prostaglandins, proteins, and steroids, many of which may cause hypercalcemia. The best treatment is generally total excision of the malignancy. Three cases of patients with this syndrome are discussed.
