Abstract
Summary and Conclusions The subject of rectal stricture due to radiation therapy is reviewed and a case reported. Although the incidence of this condition is low, it can occur in as many as 57 per cent of cases treated by radiation for carcinoma of the cervix. Pathology, symptoms and treatment are discussed, and an illustrative case report is presented to show the benefits of colostomy as a palliative procedure.
