Abstract
The reversible one-species diffusion-limited reaction X+X⇄X is solved exactly in one dimension. We find that the asymptotic approach to equilibrium exhibits a sharp (second-order-type) transition depending on the initial density . The exponential relaxation time becomes infinitely long as →0. .AE
