Tapered optical fibre dye laser

Abstract

The fabrication of an optical fibre dye laser with a pump threshold of only 28 mW using DCM dye is reported. The laser relies on the interaction between the evanescent field of a tapered single optical mode fibre and a surrounding laser dye solution.
