Abstract
A formalism is proposed which can give a smaller mass for the charged than for the neutral meson, but a larger mass for the charged than for the neutral meson. The theoretical prediction agrees with the experimental mass difference electron masses if the rms radius of the charge distribution of the meson is equal to 0.48× cm.
