A simple fluorescence comparator and its application to the determination of porphyrin

Abstract
The need and requirements of a fluorescence comparator were discussed and its construction and mechanical arrangements were described. Methods for the calibration and operation of the apparatus for the detn. of porphyrin and the prep. of the porphyrin extract from urine were given. The relation of pH and intensity of fluorescence were discussed. Porphyrin detns. on pathological urines by this method were compared with those of the standard method.
