Abstract
The Gordon Personal Profile was administered under normal instructions and under one of two faking instructions to 4 groups of college students. Scores on Ascendancy, Responsibility, and Emotional Stability were found to increase markedly under the faking instructions. Total score, the number of favorable alternatives chosen by S, was shown to be quite useful in detecting faking. The importance of the specific directions given Ss in faking studies was emphasized. Keywords
