Abstract
VARIOUS progestogens have been used to synchronize estrus in farm animals and various routes of administration have been tested. Oral administration of 6-methyl-17 acetoxy progesterone was used to synchronize estrus in sheep and cattle (Evans, Dutt and Simpson, 1962; Hinds, Dziuk and Lewis, 1964; Dhindsa et al., 1966; Dhindsa, Hoversland and Smith, 1967). Synchronization of estrus in sheep has been accomplished by subcutaneous progestogen implants (Dziuk et al., 1968) and also by using intravaginal sponges impregnated with MAP (Roberts, 1966) and flurogestone acetate (Robinson et al., 1967). Limited information is available on estrous control and ovulation rate in goats. The present investigation had the following objectives: Copyright © 1971. American Society of Animal Science .
