Abstract
The zeta‐potential of vitreous silica in contact with several solutions of barium chloride has been determined by the measurement of streaming potentials. Solutions of seven concentrations between 10−6 M and 10−2 M, inclusive, were studied, and the zeta‐potential was found to decrease in a regular manner with increasing concentration. It is evident that there is no maximum in the curve of the zeta‐potential vs. concentration, as most experimenters have reported. Keywords
