Abstract
D. describes a colori-metric method for quantitative determination of as little as 0.04 mgm. of formic acid in 5-10 ccm. aqueous solution: reduction of protein and sugar free blood and tissue filtrates with Mg ribbon and 25% HC1 in presence of Schiff''s reagent. The formaldehyde from the HCOOH gives a bluish-violet color with Schiff''s reagent which is proportional to the HCOOH content of the test solution within the limits of 0.04-1 mgm. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
