Abstract
Some misunderstandings of the fundamentals of electrodics are associated with the popular distinction between galvanic and ion-galvanic Clark membrane configuration oxygen sensors. Some nomenclature is misleading. Errors and confusion regarding the physics of diffusion of oxygen in the membrane and electrolyte film are documented and clarified. Theoretical models for pulse techniques, and their implications, are discussed. Keywords
