Abstract
We examine the effect of pressure on the order of phase transition in some antiferromagnetic systems in which the transition is of first order at zero pressure. By using the renormalization-group equations we give a qualitative description of how the transition changes from first to second order as a uniaxial stress is applied. Keywords
