Abstract
In summary, placing optical wavelength convertors (OWCs) in the optical cross connecting nodes (OXCN)s rather than at the fibre network interface not only improves the traffic performance but also enhances the performance of the physical layer, e.g., in terms of relaxed cross talk requirements. Keywords
