Abstract
We emphasize that the partially summed form of the heat kernel or Schwinger-DeWitt series that we give is valid in arbitrary dimension d, with coefficients having no d dependence. This makes our result unambiguous, since identities of the type given in the preceding comment by Xu can hold in no more than five dimensions. In addition, we give a further relation among invariants cubic in the curvature which is valid in five dimensions. Keywords
