Abstract
3/3,16a-Dihydroxy-allopregnan-20-one, isolated from the urine of patients with "salt-losing" virilizing adrenal hyperplasia, has been reported to induce sodium excretion in rats. Administration of this compound to 5 human subjects (with and without adrenocortical disease) in dosages up to 400 mg. per day failed to modify electrolyte excretion. Keywords
