Abstract
The effects of strychnine sulphate and Cannabis sativa (marihuana) on brain nucleic acids have been studied. Strychnine significantly increased the RNA [ribonucleic acid] concentration in the brain of rats whereas marihuana had no effect. These data are discussed in the light of the theory which claims that fixation of experience or memory depends on changes in the RNA of the neurons. Keywords
