Spectroscopic utility of the two-proton pickup (Li6,B8) reaction

Abstract
Data for the (Li6, B8) reaction on targets of B10, C12, C13, and O16 at 80 and 93 MeV are presented. Spectroscopic selectivity is observed and evidence for the dominance of spatially symmetric transfer of the two protons is shown. On the Tz=0 targets a close similarity is found to the analogous (p,t) reaction, and the C13 results indicate the location of low-lying 1p-shell states in Be11.
