Abstract
In this study, performed in the Gambia, the APOE ε2, ε3, and ε4 allele distributions were analysed in children with mild (338 cases) or severe (530 cases) malaria, and in individually matched control children (560 subjects). Additionally, the APOE Th1/E47 polymorphism located in the APOE promoter region11 was studied in a subset of children consisting of 183 severe malaria cases and 179 controls. Keywords
