Abstract
In images of Papanicolaou stained human cells 64 gray levels were differentiated by scanning densitometry. One of the 2 peaks in a differential histogram indicates the threshold of the cytoplasm; the other that of the nucleus. The 2 modes indicate where in the digitized image a good segmentation of the cell from its background and the nucleus from the cytoplasm can be accomplished. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
