Abstract
Contrary to popular belief not all babies lose their baby fat. Indeed, obese children often remain obese adolescents and thus are predisposed to an impressive number of debilitating conditions including coronary heart disease, hypertension, and diabetes. In this paper current research findings regarding obesity are reviewed and health promotion measures to protect the child from obesity are suggested. Keywords
